Steve Jobs gave Barack Obama an iPad 2 early

US President gifted an iPad 2 ahead of the official release

Being the most powerful man on the planet must have its perks. Well one of them seems to be early access to Apple products, an unprecedented boon the likes of which most of us will never see. US commander in chief told a US news show Steve Jobs gave him an iPad 2 ahead of its announcement. As if he can't afford his own…

Speaking to ABC News, president Obama said, "Steve Jobs actually gave it to me, a little bit early. Yeah, it was cool. I got it directly from him."

The handover could have taken place at the infamous dinner in February, at which Obama, Google's Eric Schmidt and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg were also present. Though presumably Jobs waited till after, rather than handing it over during the main course.

So that leaves us with one question: has Obama already got an iPhone 4S? Answers on a postcard sent from the Card app, or hit us up on our Facebook page.
