The filings, published initially on trademark news wesbite Fusible, LucasFilm registered several web domain names and filed two trademark applications submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The filings apparently relate to "entertainment services provided on-line by means of global and local area networks, namely, providing interactive computer games and interactive video games.” Neither LucasFilm nor LucasArts have announced any new title with the name Star Wars: Frontal Assault, although analysts say this is a clear indication a piece of interactive entertainment - most probably a videogame - may be in the pipeline.
The discovery by Fusible is the second time in as many months that the site has outed a new IP by LucasArts. Earlier this year, Fusible discovered the video game trademark for a title called Star Wars 1313. The game's existence was later confirmed at the E3 videogames expo in Los Angeles in June. According to an interview, Star Wars 1313 is a gritty sci fi adventure about bounty hunters set in the Star Wars universe.
