Spotify and 7digital team up for music download service
Don't just stream it, buy it!
As we've mentioned on numerous occasions, we love Spotify, not least for allowing us all to compile our own albums via the software's playlist function. And with a newly-announced deal with 7digital, Spotify users will soon be able to buy those virtual albums to play around the home or in your car.
Admittedly, you can do all that now with a couple of windows open on your PC, but what this new collaboration promises is a 'one stop' shop by simply clicking 'Buy From 7digital.com’. And in future, users will be able to purchase any playlists that have been created within Spotify through 7digital. Compile it, download it, burn it - who needs the record company boffin? Look out for 'one click' downloads in future too, which could be lethal when you get a long-forgotten classic in your head.
Tracks are a mix of 320kbps MP3 and (to a lesser degree) FLAC downloads, all of which should be available via your Spotify interface in the UK very soon, with Germany, France, Italy and Spain with Sweden, Norway and Finland following in a few weeks’ time.
