Sony's latest Walkman phone

W999i super slider comes packing HSDPA beneath its hefty screen.

Is this the next in Sony's burgeoning line of slick Walkman phones? The slimline slider is going under the name of the w999i and will apparently clocks in at just 12.5mm thin.

Blurry pics of this beaut' have been doing the rounds on fanboy sites across the web, but this is the first decent-shot that has seen the light of day, coming straight outta Sweden, courtesy of blogger Mear Superstar. If the rumours are to be believed, there'll be HSDPA beneath that 2.4-inch QVGA screen, along with a 2-meg camera.

The semi-QWERTY board should also help give it that smartphone feel, but for looks alone, this is a cell that we can get wait to get our dirty mits on. As soon as we get a sniff of a release date and more specs, we'll bring them straight to you.
