Rumoured specs for an upcoming Sony tablet have appeared online and hint at a 1080p screen and 2GB RAM
Sony Xperia Z tablet specs leak online
Tablet reviews
Sony has already made a splash this year with it's Xperia Z smartphone and now the Japanese company looks to be shoring up its Xperia line-up with a new tablet.
Specifications posted on the Xperia info Twitter account detail a new 10.1-inch Xperia Z tablet with some specs that are worth taking note of. The new tablet is rumoured to be packing a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 32GB of storage space, a 6,000mAh battery and a rear-facing 8.1MP camera.
The screen will be a Full HD affair with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution and, like its smartphone namesake, will be water and dust-proof.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and both Bluetooth and NFC - which is hardly surprising as Sony has been pushing NFC since the early days of the Sony Xperia S smartphone.
These specs appear to give the Xperia Z tablet some credentials - although none have been confirmed by Sony itself. There's also no word of a release date - but we wouldn't expect this to surface until the latter half of 2013. Given Sony has only just (re)released the Sony Xperia Tablet S, we can't see the sense in pushing out a new model so soon.
If you've got any thoughts on Sony's tablet range, or what features a new Xperia tablet should bring, let us know on Facebook or via Twitter.
