Sony has confirmed the transparent Sony Xperia U will see a UK launch in the summer
Sony Xperia U launched at MWC 2012
Sony has launched the Xperia U smartphone at MWC 2012, confirming a number of advance rumours about the handset previously named Kumquat.
The Android-powered Xperia U boasts a compact design and a 1GHz dual-core processor stashed behind a 3.5 in reality display (the size of the iPhone 4s).
Xperia U has recently been leaked under the codename of the Kumquat as well as making premature appearances as the Sony ST25i.

The otherwise midrange handset really kicks it out in the design stakes however, with Sony incorporating a “transparent element” in the curved back, transparent strip design, which will allow users to set themes and colours, then activate these with calls or texts, photos, and music. Each device comes with x2 colours in the box, according to Sony Mobile.
The Sony Xperia U will launch mid-Q2 globally, meaning that you might just get one to play with in the early UK summer…
