Sony Vaio X netbook unveiled at IFA
Scarily thin, but we're not so sure on the 11.1-inch screen
At Sony's press conference yesterday, the Japanese giant unveiled yet another netbook - to join the Vaio P and W models - dubbed the Vaio X. We're doubtful as to whether it deserves the "netbook" moniker, considering the laptop has an 11.1-inch screen.

Crafted from carbon fibre, the netbook measures 14mm thin, and weighs 700g. It uses an Intel Atom processor like most netbooks, allowing for an extra-long battery life, that will "set the standard for stamina" according to Sony's European President, Fujio Nishida.
Internally, the Vaio X will contain 2GB of RAM, and the slinky case will allow for VGA output and memory cards to be inserted, along with two USB ports.
No word on price or availability, with Sony claiming it will arrive in the Autumn period. Sony, you have until December to wow us with your goods.

I suspect you can trace the 'X' moniker back to the X505 which was an impossibly thin laptop.
