Sony Vaio L Series, C series and S netbooks unleashed

Video Update: Hands-on with the three Sony netbooks

Top-end PC packs in Blu-ray, HDMI and latest Intel processors.

Sony has just pulled the wrappers off of its new Vaio L series all-in-one PC. The new top-end machine crams in some stellar specs you’d expect from a sleek Vaio, with some next-gen features that are bound to get the mighty iMac worried.

The 24-inch panel packs multitouch tech, letting you flick through pics, music and docs easily. But it’s the new “Edge Access” feature that’s got us really interested. Simply tap different areas of the bezel to access shortcuts to key areas of your PC. Hit the Vaio logo to get to your Media Gallery, or tap other areas to access documents or launch an on-screen virtual keyboard.

Sony boldly claims that this new function will stop you needing to use a mouse. While it perhaps not that revolutionary, it’s still pretty swish.

Under the hood, the top-end Vaio L model comes with a Blu-ray drive, HDMI out, Windows 7 Home Premium, a massive 1TB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce graphics and a webcam rocking Sony’s Exmor camera tech for clearer video calling.

Sony has also dropped another couple of winners - the 14in colourful Sony VAIO C series and the slimmer, more stylish Sony VAIO S series which weighs in at 13 in.

The new Vaio L PC is due out in May, but there’s no word yet on how much it’ll cost. let us know what you think of Sony’s latest on our Facebook and Twitter pages now.
