Sony has finally confirmed when we'll be able to get our hands on the next-generation handheld and while it's not before Christmas it's not long after either which means we won't have to wait long
Sony PS Vita release date and UK price unveiled
Official confirmation has come from Sony revealing that here in the UK you'll be able to get your hands on a Sony PlayStation Vita from February 22.
Despite Amazon.co.uk's initial belief that the product would be heading to UK shores as early as late December its now been confirmed that the December 17 release date is for Japan while the rest of the world will need to wait a little longer.
The UK arm of Amazon does offer insight into the console’s pricing however, with the Wi-Fi +3G edition of the PS Vita available for pre-order priced £279.99 whilst the Wi-Fi only device lands at just £229.99.
Set to land with a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor the Sony PlayStation Vita is to boast a 5-inch OLED touchscreen display with front and rear mounted cameras to be joined by the usual array of PlayStation certified controls and a touch sensitive back plate.
