Sony PS Vita pictures: Hands-on with the PlayStation Vita
Sony’s upcoming next-generation portable games console, the Sony PlayStation Vita, has made another pre-release appearance at IFA 2011, posing for a series of new hands-on Sony PS Vita pictures in the process.
Having already been showcased on a number of occasions Sony’s PSP replacement is on display once again at IFA 2011 ahead of a Sony PS Vita UK release date that has widely been tipped as later this year.
Set to boast a 1.5GHz ARM A9 quad-core processor from launch the PS Vita is no slouch with a 5-inch 960 x 544p OLED display just one notable addition to a spec sheet bursting with high-end performance and tantalising hardware.
Playing host to inbuilt 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, the Vita’s controls are handled by an array of offers with the standard two analogue sticks and PlayStation-esque gamepad controls further plumped by a three-axis gyroscope, accelerometer, electronic compass and shoulder buttons. Front and rear mounted cameras complete the Vita’s bag of tricks alongside a rear mounted touch panel.
