Codemasters has announced the release date for its second instalment of the F1 franchise.
F1 2011 will be released on September 23rd with the game coming to four platforms including the Sony NGP, the game's developer Codemasters has revealed.
The UK developer’s new racing game will also be available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS.
Looking to emulate the success of last year's release that saw F1 2010 top gaming charts in its opening weeks with more than a quarter of a million copies reportedly sold to date, Codemasters will launch F1 2011 title to coincide with the Singapore GP, the first race after the extensive European leg of the championship.
Talking on the upcoming title, Codemasters official statement announced: "In F1 2011 players will be challenged to 'be the driver, live the life, go compete.
“With wide-ranging technical and gameplay advancements on and off track and vastly extended competitive and co-operative multiplayer components."
