Sony launches VAIO JS1 space-saving desktop
An iMac for PC lovers
If you like the look of an iMac, but still have doubts about making the jump, Sony has done you a favour - introducing the iMac-like VAIO JS1.
Yes, we could argue about detail, but the slimline, upright screen, metallic legs, side-loading drive and minimalist keyboard surely can't be an accident. Shrewd move too - any Mac doubters who fancy the look will almost certainly be all over this.
The JS1 has got the substance to match the style too, with Intel E7200 Core 2 Duo processor, 3GB of RAM, 500GB HDD, 20.1-inch X-black LCD screen, Wi-Fi connectivity, Motion Eye webcam and DVD drive. And if you love your audio, you'll appreciate the Dolby Home Theatre technology, Sony's Sound Reality signal processor chip and the option to boost your old tunes to SA-CD.
All of which costs...well, we don't know yet. Maybe Sony will do a price match with Apple?
