Playstation are hiring- with a focus on mobile gaming.
Rumours surrounding a possible PSP branded phone have been around for ages but today things got a little more concrete. In a job listing on the Playstation site, Sony are advertising for a senior server engineer to join their Online Technology Group in London. The specifics of the role point towards experience with cloud hosting software and “experience with online gaming”.
Given that the PSP Go saw the PSP move towards online downloads for all its games, it’s likely that Sony could be working on a powerful gaming smartphone based around an app store of some kind.
Exactly what the PSP phone will be, however, remains unclear. It shouldn’t be confused with the PSP2, which was recently revealed to already be in the hands of developers.
