Sony heads off PS3 shortage
Eagerly awaiting-the PlayStation 3? Thankfuly Sony has seen sense and will manufacture early to meet the European rush.
Sony is hoping to avoid a stampede this Christmas, by manufacturing Europe's batch of PlayStation 3 consoles first.
David Reeves, Sony Europe's President and CEO, has said the PAL machines will be first off the starting block once production starts, so you won't have to queue around the block to get your hands on one.
It's great news for British gamers, who usually face a fight to the checkout for all the latest kit.
Sony reckons its next-gen masterpiece will fly off the shelves, so needs to flood European countries with stock in time for the November 17 launch.
