Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray coming soon on Vodafone

Mini Xperia handset sighted on UK Vodafone site

Titchy tiny Xperia Ray smartphone incoming.

Vodafone has become the first UK carrier to confirm it will be stocking the upcoming Xpera Ray, launching a sign up page to update would-be customers on the smartphone's UK launch.

The Xperia Ray is running in the opposite direction to the most recent slew of top end smartphones, eschewing a massive touchscreen in favour of a more dainty 3.3-inch display. Don't let the size fool you, however - wrapped up in that slim shell is an 8MP camera, a 1GHz processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It's not going to compete with the Galaxy S2 or the next iPhone, but it's shaping up to be quite the midrange blower.

Vodafone don't list any more specific information on the site, beyond the fact that the handset will be available in gold as an alternative to the standard Smartphone Black. Interested parties can sign up for updates with Vodafone at the link below, and watch our Xperia Ray review video here.
