Sony Ericsson has revealed that its PlayStation certified handset the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play now plays host to more than 150 fully optimised gaming titles.
Making the announcement at GamesCom this week Sony Ericsson revealed that the 150 existing titles are to gain some high profile siblings with FIFA 12, Dead Space and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit all lined up to hit the gaming-centric smartphone in the near future.
“With new games coming to the ecosystem on a daily basis, Xperia™ PLAY is redefining smartphone gaming,” said Tim Harrison, Head of Content & Marketing Strategy for Sony Ericsson. “Xperia™ PLAY is in a whole new category, a unique platform that allows major publishers and independent studios alike to push the boundaries of smartphone gaming and reach new audiences.”
Confirmed earlier this week FIFA 12 is to hit the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play later this year with the PSP phone to play exclusive host to the Android version of the football sim until February 21st, almost five months after the FIFA 12 release date for console platforms.
