New accessory lets you flick through music and check up on Facebook and Twitter.

Sony Ericsson has just pulled the wrappers off its new LiveView accessory, which pairs with Android handsets via Bluetooth, letting you check on your latest texts and tweets and tinker with your music without getting your phone out of your pocket.

There’s a clip round the back so you can stick the LiveView extra onto your clobber, meaning it bears more than a passing resemblance to the all-new iPod nano.

The add-on is aimed at those who are rocking an Android blower but can’t be faffed to undertake the arduous task of pulling out their phone to check on what’s going down. Sony Ericsson has yet to confirm exactly which Android handsets will play nice with it.

The LiveView is due out in the last three months of this year, with prices to be confirmed. Sony Ericsson has said you’ll be able to get your mitts on one as part of its accessories Experience Packs. There’ll even be dedicated apps available for it in Android Market.

Sound like a winner? Or a needless extra cost? Tell us your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter.
