Sony Ericsson launches the miniature Xmini handset
Good things come in small packages
When you hear the phrase 'Walkman phone', we're guessing you instantly think of a candy bar-shaped handset that's big on features, but lacking somewhat on style. That's not the case in Japan.
This is the Sony Ericsson Xmini and for once, this is quite literally a Walkman phone. It's as small as a Walkman and has all the features of a Walkman, including music and video playback plus 4GB of storage. But unlike your average Walkman, this is also for good for a few phone calls.
Slide the phone open to expose a 1.8-inch LCD screen and keypad, with the handset also offering music and video downloading on the go. Why would want to watch a film on a screen that small is beyond us, but hey, it's there if you want it.
The phone lands in Japan this month in a wide assortment of colours and right now, isn't intended for Europe. Which is certainly Sony Ericsson's loss - this has 'must-have fashion phone' written all over it.
