Sony BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 Blu-ray players launch

The latest Blu-ray players have been wheeled out by the Japanese manufacturer at IFA

Sony's rolling out the releases this IFA, with the BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 Blu-ray players, a pair of Wi-Fi enabled decks which offer 1080p video.

Both players include 24p True Cinema, DVD upscale, X.V Colour, PhotoTV HD, Deep Colour, Dolby TrueHD audio along with DTS-HD Master Audio, and BonusView, with the only differences being with the higher-end BDP-S760, which offers Super Bit Mapping for natural colour reproduction, HD Reality Enhancer for reducing picture noise, a headphone jack, 7.1 audio output (as opposed to the BDP-S560's 2-channel) and backlit-remote commander for using in the dark. The BDP-S760 also weighs 0.6g heavier.

Being Wi-Fi enabled, users will be able to use BD-Live for additional interactive content, and both contain the usual Xross Media Bar interface.

Prices and availability haven't yet been confirmed by Sony, but rest assured we'll be snapping up more information on the BDP-S560 and BDP-S760 tomorrow when the IFA show opens properly. We imagine these two players will be compatible with the new 3D Blu-ray discs announced by the Blu-ray Disc Association today, and the 3D LCD TVs by Sony.
