Sonic 4 is hitting iOS tomorrow, 7 October. But before you hit the App Store in feverish anticipation, make sure you clamp your eyes on the new trailer for the blue critter’s latest adventure.

The clip shows just how Sonic 4 works on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, with the entire screen spinning when the little blighter takes a gravity defying spin. There’s also a final look at a couple of the levels, which bear more than a passing resemblance to some of Sonic 2’s classic worlds.

Sonic 4 is hitting the App Store first, before making its way to the Wii, PSN and Xbox Live over the next week.
