Staying charged during the big chill

We all need a good winter coat. And if it can charge our gadgets at the same time, all the better. Indeed, that's what you get with the Ermenegildo Zegna solar-powered ski jacket.

The clue is in the title, with this designer jacket packing solar cells placed in neoprene collar. Ok, that makes you look a bit like Harry Hill, but the upside is loads of free juice for your phone, media player or indeed any gadget you keep on your person. And if you want to charge on warmer days, that's good too - the collar comes off, so you can leave things charging in any available window.

The jacket itself isn't going to win many style awards, but it's thick, waterproof and packed full of pockets for your essentials. And it's yours for $1,350.
