Snoop Dogg has chosen MySpace as the forum to launch his new album, Doggumentary a full two days before its official release.
Snoop Dogg is no stranger to using social media to promote his music having used Twitter and Facebook to leak out several tracks from his last album. However, with reports of MySpace losing 10 million unique users in the last month, it seems that Snoop's Doggone crazy to have any faith in the social media dinosaur.
However, given the recent wave of shared instamatic-inspired nostalgia, it seems that retro is back. Perhaps Snoop is appealing to the hipster in all of us who yearns for a simpler time, before digital cameras, when Ray-Bans were original and before Facebook stole our hearts.
Is Snoop really so far behind the times, or is it so backward that its marketing gold? After all, you know how the saying goes, "No publicity is bad Pupp-licity".
