Skype for Mac update rolled out

5.3 update brings HD video and Lion support

New update comes hot on heels of Skype for iPad.

Skype has just come over all official with its latest update for Mac OS X. Skype 5.3 for Mac comes just a week after Skype for iPad went official and follows the Skype 5.2 upgrade, which was only released last month.

Skype 5.3 is all about OS X Lion support, meaning full screen skills when making video calls. On top of that, you can now make HD video calls using your Macs FaceTime camera, although Skype warns you’ll need at least 1.5MBps broadband to make this work.

There are a string of bug fixes too, which should mean that using Skype on your Mac is even more of a doddle.
