SIM2 unleashes 1080p monster

Full HD projector with advanced video gubbins on the way.

SIM2 has launched yet another full Hi-Def projector - the high-end Grand Cinema HT380.

Despite being a piddling 350mm across at its widest point, this lightbox is packing some serious home cinema heat: SIM2's powerful AlphaPath light engine; BrilliantColor picture enhancement; 10-bit video processing; and last but certainly not least the ability to deliver full 1080p pictures at a speed of 24 frames per second - just the thing if you want to release the full potential of your Blu-ray or HD DVD player.

There's an HDMI input to hook up your HD player/Sky HD/PlayStation 3, but even standard def stuff can get the Hi-Def treatment courtesy of the 10-bit processing's upscaling feature.

The HT830 will be hitting all good home cinema outlets later this month, with a price tag of about £6,500. Ouch.
