Sharp announces environmentally-friendly BD-HP22H Blu-ray player
Can we call it a Green-ray player?
Sharp has announced a brand new Blu-ray player that’s set to launch later this month. The BD-HP22H offers everything you’d expect from a brand spanking new player, including full 1080p HD picture, 7.1 surround sound with DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD, and the latest Blu-ray profile 2.0, aka BD-Live.
Sharp reckons the BD-HP22H player will have an edge when it comes to image quality, promising vivid, defined pictures thanks to x.v. colour technology, and 24Hz video output to make sure it’s smooth and seamless.
BD-Live allows you access additional content from your discs, or rather, from the internet. Hook it up to your modem and stream bonus scenes and trailers; you can even play mini-games and interact with other BD-Live users.
However, one of the player’s more unique attributes is that it’s one of the most environmentally friendly devices on the market. While playing, it’ll eat just 20W of power, or 0.7W when in standby.
Sharp’s BD-HP22H Blu-ray player is available from this month and will cost a recommended price of £199.99.
