Sanyo Xacti takes on Flip with HD rec and 10MP cam

1080p rec and 10MP sensor hopes to keep niche market

Sanyo's VPC-PD2BK - the latest 'Dual Camera' offering

Sanyo has unveiled the latest in its line of Xacti portable-camcorders, the VPC-PD2BK. Designed to take on the Flip on home territory, the VPC-PD2BK offers not only full 1080p 30fps video recording but also has a high-end 10MP sensor with a 3x optical zoom.

The connectivity on the VPC-PD2BK is not lacking either, featuring a USB 2.0 port and a mini-HDMI port which means you'll be able to show the whole family your escapades on the big screen in full HD.

Of course its main focus is video recording, and as such the VPC-PD2BK comes with twin-stero microphones and the same user friendly 'point-and-shoot' functionality we've come to expect from similar products. In terms of memory the VPC-PD2BK will take SD/SDHC/SDXC cards which means you're liiking at potential storage of up to 64GB.

This is the latest in Sanyo's 'Dual Cameras' which are aimed at people that want something truly pocketable but completely fluent in all things Twitter, Facebook and YouTube related, it's due to come out in September at a price of $169.99 (£109.99).
