Samsung unveils ultimate HDTVs
Slick new models revealed, including range topping 1080p LCD monster.
Samsung today launched three new TV ranges of Hi-Def televisions, with the ultra-high spec M87 series sitting at the top.
The M87 LCD TV (available in 37, 40, 46 and 52-inch sizes and a black finish) has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and is able to show the highest quality 1080p Hi-Def video through its HDMI and component video sockets - so owners of Blu-ray/HD DVD decks and next-gen consoles will be able to crank the picture quality up to maximum. You get a raft of picture enhancement features and no less than three HDMI connections, all of them toting the latest version 1.3 spec.
Next up is the R87 series (available in 23, 26, 32, 37 and 40-inch sizes and both black and white finishes), which offers some similar functions but a lower resolution and a slightly sexier design.
Last of the new series is the Q97, a black plasma screen that comes in 42 and 50-inch sizes. Engineered for sports fans and toting a special 75Hz mode for smoother motion.
All three new TV ranges are available now from the usual outlets. More info on specs can be found on the Samsung website .
