Samsung continues to swell its soon to be released multi-format app store with the announcement that Facebook and Google Maps will be available to download to its latest range of HDTVs.
The Korean electronics giant has already signed up the likes of Blockbuster, Twitter and Pandora to be part of the world's first HDTV-based application store, where consumers will be able get web-style apps tailored for products such as the Samsung 9000 Series 3D TV.
Having finally entered the mobile apps arena with Bada, Samsung has decided to take the app revolution one step further with its app store which along with Samsung HDTVs, will also be compatible with Blu-ray players and Home Theatre systems upgraded to the Internet@TV feature launched last year.
The Samsung app store is expected to launch this summer to coincide with the arrival of the company's latest 3D TV range. We'll keep you posted when you will be able to check for directions on your telly before you leave the house.
