Samsung is priming its first wave of attacks on the iPhone 5, with a newspaper ad laying into Apple’s new handset, which was revealed earlier this week. The Korean giant and Cupertino have been locked in a legal tussle surrounding their smartphones, with Apple winning a resounding victory in a California courtroom last month.
The ad, called ‘It doesn’t take a genius’, simply places the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy SIII next to each other, putting the devices specs head-to-head. Predictably, Sammy’s handset comes out on top, with a longer list of top-end tech.
There are also some mild swipes at the iPhone 5, Samsung dubbing Apple’s new ‘Lightning’ connector, ‘A totally different plug’. With a growing furore around Apple’s switch from its traditional connector to the smaller plug, Samsung will be hoping to score some points over its rival.
The iPhone 5 goes on sale on 21 September, with the first batch of pre-orders already sold out. It seems that no matter how hard Samsung tries, it can’t stop the iPhone juggernaut.
