Samsung Smart TV app downloads reach 10m
Smart TVs now do so much more than simply showing you the latest episode of 'Come Dine with Me', this statistic is a testament to that fact and shows that if we are watching it, we'll be tweeting on the same screen
Samsung has revealed figures that show they've surpassed the 10 million download mark with apps for their Smart TV. The apps allow users to install embedded social-networking features such as Twitter, Facebook and even Google Talk.
Available on all Smart TV enabled sets the store lets customers browse a wide-range of applications from using BBC iPlayer to the superb YouTube application to using LoveFilm and watching hundreds of films on-demand.
Unsurprisingly the YouTube app is their most popular worldwide offering up a minimalistic approach to searching for video content and then showing it in blazing 1080p Full HD.
Samsung Smart TV Apps: Growing in numbers
This news is all the more impressive considering there are just 1,000 apps available on the Samsung App Store, and according to Samsung's UK Marketing Director for TV this number is growing all the time.
"Over the coming months, we will continue to seek partnerships with content providers to provide a vast range of apps so people will not only find an abundance of entertainment choices on their Smart TV but lifestyle too."

Samsung recently enjoyed success at T3's Gadget Awards with their incredible Samsung UE55D8000 being crowned TV of the Year thanks to the combination of its One design and connectivity options including the superb Smart Hub offering up Samsung's Smart TV apps on the huge screen.
