Samsung reveals Show i7410 projector phone

Up to 50" of projection in your pocket

Samsung has confirmed that its Show W7900 projector smartphone will be getting a European edition in the guise of the Show i7410.

Unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress, the Samsung Show i7410 packs a Texas Instruments DLP Pico projector – the same technology that’s showing up in tons of mini projectors right now. Samsung claims that you’ll be able to project images of up to 50” in diameter, although that will depend on lighting conditions.

Samsung Show i7410 runs a Windows Mobile operating system – we’re assuming that’s WinMo 6.1, rather than the newly unveiled Windows Mobile 6.5 – and comes with Mobile Office so that you can use PowerPoint for your slides.

It also sports an OLED touchscreen display with gesture recognition and flick navigation. Plus there’s a 5.0-megapixel camera on board. Most importantly, judging from the product photos we’ve seen so far, it’s not an ugly brick either and should slip smoothly out of your pocket for impromptu big screen projections.

Korea is getting first dibs on the Samsung Show W7900 this month, but the Show i7410 version should be hitting Europe quite soon. Exact dates and prices have yet to be confirmed.
