Samsung: no Bada tablets

Galaxy tab

Bada tablet had been rumoured previously.

Samsung has said it's not planning on releasing a tablet using its in-house Bada operating system. Instead, all of its slates will use Google Android, as the Korean company looks to consolidate its position as Apple's biggest tablet rival.

Sammy exec JK Shin told the Wall Street Journal that, "We'll continue to work with Android on future tablets." There had been talk that a Bada-based device would be released at a knock down price later this year.

Shin also referred to his company's lawsuit with Apple, saying that he didn't envisage the battle between the two tech titans getting out of hand. "We didn't copy Apple's design. We have used many similar designs over the past years and it will not be legally problematic." Steve Jobs might have something to say about that.
