Capture your Memoir on a mobile

Is it a camera with a phone? Or a phone with a camera? We suspect the Samsung Memoir is the latter...but only just.

Just launched in the US (and almost certain to hit the UK in a matter of weeks), the Samsung Memoir is the latest shot fired in anger in the touchscreen phone war, banking on its picture prowess to pull in the punters. And for good reason, with the handset packing an 8 megapixel camera, Xenon flash, 16x digital zoom, five shooting modes and direct sharing to any online photo gallery worth its salt. Let's be honest, it's probably up there with your current compact snapper.

But we're also talking modern-day mobile too, with the 3G -friendly phone offering up that touchscreen, a virtual full QWERTY keyboard, music/video player, Bluetooth and A-GPS to get you from A to B.

Just launched in the US, look out for the Samsung Memoir in the coming weeks in the UK. In the meantime, don't upgrade your camera.
