Samsung Galaxy Tab slapped with price tag

Carphone Warehouse prices up iPad rival

SIM-free price miraculously coincides with cheapest 3G iPad.

Jonesing for a Samsung Galaxy Tab? Well, you don’t have long to wait, with 1 November fast approaching. But what of the cost? Well, Carphone Warehouse has just confirmed up its SIM-free price for the slate.

You’ll need to find £530 to lay your mitts on the new tablet. That’s exactly the same price as the 16GB Wi-Fi and 3G iPad, although we’re sure Sammy knows that already.

This will doubtless drop as networks look to sell the 7-inch machine at an initial knock down price, before asking for a hefty monthly fee. The FroYo-packing tablet has been much-anticipated, with a select group of lucky Londoners able to trial the device on the Tube network this week.
