Samsung Galaxy S II wins the Tech Radar Phone of the Year award and targets the T3 Gadgets Award accolade
Lining up against bitter rivals in the form of Apple’s iPhone 4, the HTC Desire, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and the Orange San Francisco, Samsung’s dual-core powerhouse claimed the prize as the best all-round handset available to buy today.
Complementing the device’s impressive 1.2GHz dual-core processor the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is also up for the Phone of the Year prize in the 2011 T3 Gadget Awards, boasts a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities, Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and a minimalist form factor.
“The response this year to the Phone Awards has been phenomenal – proving that the mobile phone market is the most exciting area of tech at the moment,” Marc Chacksfield, deputy editor of TechRadar announced.
Other winners in the Tech Radar Phone Awards saw Apple claim the Best Phone for Business award for the iPhone 4 whilst Google’s Android OS was announced the best mobile operating system.
