Date ties in with Samsung UK's official plans for end of September release.
The Samsung Galaxy S is finally set to get a bump to Android 2.2, FroYo, if a new rumour is to be believed. Insiders at Samsung’s repairs department in Finland reckon the upgrade will be landing on the top-end handset on 23 September.
The source said that Samsung was, ““definitely receiving new software for repairing FroYo builds on the 22nd of September, with the build expected to be released on the 23rd”
While this info is coming out of Finland, it’s unlikely Samsung will roll it out in Nokia’s backyard only, meaning if you’ve got a Galaxy S, you can expect Wi-Fi hotspot skills and blistering performance from next Thursday.
