Saints Row 4 trailer breaks cover

Saints Row 4 trailer announces August 23rd release date

Saints Row 4 is set to be released on August 20th 2013 according to a brand new trailer for the game that just went live

Saints Row 4, the latest instalment in Volition's over-the-top open-world action adventure series, will launch this year on August 23rd, according to the first trailer for the game - which just went live. In conjunction with the trailer, Deep Silver have released a statement detailing what fans can expect from Saints Row 4, promising the "greatest, most insane instalment of Saints Row yet". Feast your eyes on the trailer below:

There are so many jump-cuts in the above cinematic that we thought it might be worth posting up the rest of the statement to give readers a better picture of Saints Row 4. Here you go:

"In the next open-world installment of Saints Row, Volition continues the story of the Third Street Saints by elevating their status to the highest level – the leaders of the free world. In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. But the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.

Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.

Save the world, Saints Style."

No word on dildo-shaped baseball bats or gimp-drawn-carriage chases, but we're pretty sure Volition have a ton of twisted, warped and laugh-out-loud hilarious content planned for Saints Row 4 - especially if its predecessor was anything to go by. Stay tuned for our first look preview in the next couple of days.
