RIM announces BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 update
The update also offers a raft of new capabilities, including BlackBerry Bridge (version 2.1), which allows users to send SMS, and is available as a free over-the-air download.
The upgrade means it’s able to host the Print To Go application, which allows users to transfer documents from a PC to their Playbook, while Messages, Contacts and Calendar apps can now be viewed in Portrait mode.
Customers will automatically get a notification of the update on their PlayBook, or they can tap the gear icon (in top right corner) and check for the new version under “Software Updates”.
