PSP goes PS3 style

Sony's handheld gets a fresh update with Remote Play.

Sony has dropped its latest firmware update for the PSP in Japan, letting you get down with your PS3 via the wonder of wireless networks. The news comes a week after the hi-def console itself was beefed up.

Remote Play, as it's called, will eventually let you pick up your PS3 games on the go, as long as you're hooked up to the web. For now though, you can only check out music, vids and pictures on the go.

The update also includes a new RSS Channel Guide, so you can keep abreast of all the latest gadget news if you've got a Sony handheld in your pocket.

We're desperate to see a full Remote Play service, but watching movies from home while on the train to work suits us for now.
