PS4: we've already started on it says Sony
Chief Financial Officer gives glimpse of next-gen Sony home console.
Work on the PS4 is “already under way” according to the company’s Chief Financial Officer Masaru Kato. While not explicitly naming the device, Kato referred to a “future platform” during a conference call yesterday.
“For the home equipment the PS3 still has a product life," said Kato. "But this is a platform business, so for the future platform - when we'll be introducing what product, I cannot discuss - but our development work is already under way.”
Predictions about when the PS4 will be revealed have already begun, with some suggesting Sony will trail the console at E3 2012, before releasing it in 2013. Either way, it’ll have to go some way to beat the PS3, which is still kicking it after five years.
