PlayMemories: 3D snaps on your PS3

New app landing end of the month

More three dimensional goodies from the Big S as PlayMemories debuts.

3D Blu-ray playback just not enough for you PS3 owners out there? Then how about a new 3D album app that lets you spy your three dimensional snaps on your new TV too?

That’s the premise behind PlayMemories, a new app for the PS3 which Sony says will be good to go at the end of September. It’s a neat gallery application which lets you check out 2D and 3D shots on your telly.

You can zoom in using SixAxis or DualShock controls too. Of course, this is a great way for Sony to convince punters to splash out on pricey new cameras packing 3D sweep panorama modes, such as the ace NEX-3 and WX5.

Is this enough to tempt you into buying a 3D telly? Or is Sony taking it too far with this 3D lark? Sound off on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
