140 is first of slew of new 3D Blu-ray players landing at IFA.
Pioneer has slipped out details of its new BDP-140 Blu-ray player, which it says is the first in a string of new hi-def disc spinners being shown off at this week’s IFA gadget fest in Berlin.
The new movie maven comes loaded with 3D Blu-ray playback, as well as web smarts for accessing BD Live content, watching YouTube footage on your TV or showing off your Picasa albums.
The BDP-140 can be controlled via Pioneer’s iControlAV2 app, as long as it’ hooked up to your home network, meaning you don’t need to dive down the back of the sofa to look for the dedicated remote.
Up conversion of standard DVDs is also included, as is support for Dolby TrueHD. The BDP-140 is up for grabs now and costs £169. We’ll be bringing you more Pioneer news from the show floor at IFA, so be sure to stick around.
