Following its official unveiling at IFA 2011 we go hands-on with the stylish Philips DesignLine Edge 3D TV
Looking to move away from the flurry of lifeless black and silver boxes that has become the television market, Philips has unveiled it is to launch a series of DesignLine TVs pairing high-end performance with inspiring design.
Heading the first generation of DesignLine TVs is the Philips DesignLine Edge, a Full HD 3D device that is tasked as being “a fusion between function and form” which “should integrate into the living environment.”
Intentionally designed to lean back at a six-degree angle the Philips DesignLine Edge has been crafted with the living room in mind. Ambilight Spectra 2 technology is paired with Philips’ Easy 3D performance which reduces ghosting and ensures fluid motion on all 3D content.
Touting the company’s inbuilt Smart TV functionality, DesignLine Edge users will be able to access a host of TV apps and online content with a newly announced partnership revealing all LG Smart TV apps will also be made available to Philips unit users.
Joining the Edge in the DesignLine range is the Tilt. Available in 22- and 26-inch iterations the DesignLine Tilt is the compact edition of this stylish range with two integrated HMDI ports enabling HD content input.
