Being LED, it will also use 50 per cent less power than a normal LCD TV, making it a very energy efficient choice for anyone concerned about their electricity bills. There's actually 224 LEDs on the panel, which is 75 per cent more than previous TVs, and it's possible to dim or brighten different sections of the TV. As with other high-end Philips sets, the 9704 also uses Ambilight Spectra 3 for projecting lights around the sides of the TV onto the wall.
With 200Hz technology, Perfect Pixel HD, Perfect Colour and their 17-bit Colour Booster features, along with five HDMI ports and Wi-Fi, it's a worthy addition to the Philips family.
Available in 40-inches and 46-inches, they'll set you back £1,799 and £2,499 each.
