Pro Evolution Soccer targets FIFA as Konami releases the first PES 2012 gameplay trailer

Pro Evolution Soccer developer Konami has released the first official PES 2012 gameplay trailers with the six videos detailing a number of new features from the upcoming football sim.

Totalling more than seven minutes of content the six videosoffer a first look at a number of the game’s new features including off the ball controls, zonal marking, dummy runs and overlap play.

Whilst the videos lack the fast paced, exciting and teasing nature of the recent FIFA 12 trailer, the new gameplay footage clearly outlines how PES 2012 will in the words of Konami focus on “the instinctive way the game can be played and on teamwork in particular.”

Despite celebrating a number of years as the best football game on the market, PES has fallen into the shadow of EA’s FIFA franchise in recent years with FIFA 12, due out on September 30th, once again expected to outshine the Pro Evolution offering that is to hit stores on a yet undisclosed date.
