Panasonic Lumix LX5 official
24mm wide angle lens, HD video and 10.1 megapixels all on board new snapper.
Panasonic has officially lifted the lid on its awesome new Lumix LX5 compact. And the headline grabber certainly looks like its going to be a real winner for snappers who want a compact with top notch SLR skills.
Inside you’ll find 10.1 megapixels, with a Leica lens slapped up front which can handle 24mm wide angle shots. The optical zoom sits at 3.8x so you’ll be able to get right up in peoples faces with no trouble at all.
The LX5 can also handle full HD video clips, recording in AVCHD Lite. There’s HDMI out too, so you can shovel your movie masterpieces straight from the peeper to your HDTV. Panasonic also says you’ll get 400 shots per single charge, which makes this is a bit of a warhorse too.
Elsewhere, Panasonic has rolled the rugged Lumix TX10 with 4x zoom and 14.1 megapixels. It’s waterproof to 10 feet, as well as being shock proof. If you’re not planning on getting rough and tumble with your camera, then there’s the FX700 with 5x optical zoom and 1080p video, along with the FZ40 and FZ100, both of which pack 14.1 megapixels.
