Panasonic Lumix LX5 leaked ahead of midweek launch

10.1-megapixel compact snapper outed on support site

10.1-megapixel Panasonic Lumix LX5 revealed on customer support site

Although it is not expected to be officially unveiled until this Wednesday, July 21st, the Panasonic Lumix LX5 compact digital camera has been leaked ahead of time courtesy of a preemptive customer support page on the Panasonic website.

Spoiling the surprise of the Lumix LX5’s full specs list ahead of its expected launch later this week, the support page displays the ‘New’ compact camera alongside its 10.1-megapixel, F2.0 Leica DC lens bragging statistics.

Joining the new Panasonic’s impressive list of functions will be a 400 snapshot battery life, 720p HD video recording and the option of 3.8x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom for those close-in shots.

The Lumix’s specs sheet is far from finished with battery life and zoom possibilities, however. Also slotting inside the 4.3-inch x 2.58-inch x 1.69-inch stylish body of the LX5 when it hits the shelves will be a 3.0-inch TFT LCD screen, face detection in both photo and movie modes, mini-HDMI connectivity and an ISO than can be wound up to 12,800.

Price details for the new Panasonic Lumix LX5 are missing from the site and are something Panasonic is presumably holding close to its chest ahead of the upcoming launch. Stay tuned to and the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds for all the latest breaking news on the latest Panasonic compact snapper.
