Panasonic hits 100Hz
Two new HD Ready LCD TVs plump out the range
At last, around a month after we first saw them and with the embargo date finally past we can bring word of Panasonic's latest LCD TV additions -- two new models from its LXD85 range that bring forth HD Readiness and the promise of pics smoother than a well-oiled Italian.
The 100Hz Motion Picture Pro Technology is designed to "significantly reduce motion picture lag" by creating intermediate image frames that are then inserted between originally beamed frames to remove the blur from fast moving images prevalent in the likes of sports and films.
The LXD85 series also carries a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and Intelligent Scene Controller feature that tweaks contrast levels and deepens blacks by expanding the backlight tuning area.
Elsewhere, standard Panny TV tech flows throughout with V-Real 3 Picture Processing, VIERA IPS ALPHA LCD panel in-plane switching for a 178-degree viewing angle both vertically and horizontally and V-Audio Sound. VIERA Link is in attendance for single system remote control via HDMI hook-up, and there's also an SDHC card slot and a trio of HDMI ports. Both models land in April.
