HP exec calls webOS slate by its real name at last.
PalmPad: HP boss lets name slip
PalmPad has been slated as the name for HP and Palm’s webOS tablet since a trademark surfaced citing it back in July.
And while HP has admitted a webOS-loaded slate is in the way in early 2011 it hasn’t officially named it. Until now. HP’s Todd Bradley has finally let slip that it’ll be called the PalmPad while speaking at an analyst get-together
“We've already announced the expansion of our future product portfolio well beyond smartphones,” Bradley said. “We'll have a webOS-powered PalmPad that will be set for release early in 2011.”
That pretty much clears things up when it comes to the name, but what we really want to know is how this gadget will square up to the iPad and BlackBerry PlayBook. Expect to see it make an official appearance at CES 2011 in January.
