Palm Pre 2: Euro model unearthed

FCC listing delivers string of new details

Codename unearthed along with a slew of specs and details.

The Palm Pre 2 - the follow-up to T3's Top 100-topping Palm Pre - is heading to Europe. The next-gen webOS mobile has just slipped through US regulators at the FCC under the codename P102UEU. Allow us to explain.

P102 is widely regarded as the model name for the Pre 2, with two other models made specifically for the US being spotted by eagle-eyed Palm watchers a few weeks back. The U refers to the UMTS standard for phones used here in Europe. And EU, refers, of course, to Europe.

The details of the FCC filing have been torn to pieces by the fanatics at Pre Central, with Pre 2 specs also being touted. Word is it’ll have the same slider design as the original, with the same rear exterior for wireless Touchstone charging.

Inside, there’s 1GHz processor and an 1150mAh battery. You can expect more goods to be delivered on this device in the coming days and weeks. It seems the new Pre 2 could be just around the corner.
